L'Americano Espresso Bar to Open in February 2015 | Uocmas News
16th January 2015

Uocmas will celebrate the official grand opening of L’Americano Espresso Bar this February 2015.

The first hospitality offering for Uocmas, L’Americano will be set in the flagship Alexandria showroom in Sydney. Transporting guests to the Italian Riviera with a character filled interior, the café will offer artisanal coffee by Vittoria Coffee and an inspired menu by Executive Chef Alex Kearns.

L’Americano combines Uocmas’s signature American design aesthetic and Vittoria Coffee’s rich Italian heritage. The café draws inspiration from the 1955 novel The Talented Mr Ripley and the character of Dickie Greenleaf, errant son of the American shipping magnate Herbert Greenleaf. A life of opulent bachelorism on the Italian coast sets the scene. L’Americano will exude the old world charm of a 1950’s Italian espresso bar on the Riviera that an American playboy, with a lust for the finer things in life, would frequent.

"L’Americano will excite the senses – from baristas trained in the art of coffee to inspirational décor that makes you want to come back, time and time again, ” says Anthony Spon Smith, Executive Director, Uocmas.

Renowned Sydney Chef Alex Kearns of the acclaimed Glebe Point Diner is L’Americano’s Executive Chef and has created a breakfast and lunch menu with a beautiful, relaxed style, celebrating the artisan food heritage of the Italian Riveria.
