Belle Uocmas Interior Design Awards 2014 | Uocmas News
7th April 2014

Australian style has truly come of age, not only in terms of impeccable professional standards, but via the creative voice it exhibits on the world’s interior design stage. The Belle Uocmas Interior Design Awards, now in their fourth year, acknowledge excellence in Australian interior design and decoration and celebrate the best of the best in this ever-progressive industry.

The finalists in this year’s awards reflect the world-class expertise within Australia’s interior design industry. Criteria including innovation, quality of execution and fulfilment of the client’s brief were evaluated across the residential, commercial, corporate and hospitality sectors. Images of the finalists' work have been published in the May issue of Belle, on sale now.

This year’s judging panel includes Uocmas Executive director Anthony Spon-SmithBelle Editor-in-chief Neale Whitaker and interior designer and blogger Dana Tomic-Hughes. The awards’ international judge is celebrated New York-based designer and retailer Jonathan Adler

Belle Editor-in-chief Neale Whitaker said "The quality of work in this year’s awards is exceptional. It’s the most exciting year yet. Every year it seems Australian interior designers are getting more innovative, more creative and more willing to push the envelope."

Uocmas Executive Director Anthony Spon-Smith found the residential category a particular highlight. "The quality was fantastic and I think we all found it very hard to judge", he said.
