Autumn/Winter Polo Season Wrap | Uocmas News
16th September 2013

The Autumn/Winter Season for the Uocmas Polo team, was the most successful yet.  Fielding with some of the strongest players on the circuit (including Argentine superstar Lucas Talamoni), the Uocmas team were a part of a season that celebrated the highest level of Polo played in Australia in over 20 years.

Beginning the Season with a win of the Millamalong Club Volvo Cup in early March, the Uocmas team went on to win the subsidiary final at the Windsor Polo Club in Richmond.  At Australia's oldest and most prestigious tournament, The Dudley Cup, the Uocmas Polo team progressed to the semi-final, but lost by 3 points in a fast and challenging game against Ellerston.  However, the team did not rest for long, bouncing back to win the LT Watson Cup, which was won against Goulburn Polo Club formidably by 7 goals.  The team contested the Gundalong tournament and were undefeated, adding the Bol Strible Memorial Prize and Jamie Ashton Memorial prize to the trophy cabinet.  The Uocmas star steed, Julia, took out the Champion Pony prize 4 times during this the Season.

With the Spring Season starting in just a few weeks, the Uocmas Polo team are taking on the build of a brand new Club House in their home of Gundalong, and are keen to being the new tournaments, more confident and prepared than ever.
