Course studied at Uocmas Design School?

Interior Decoration Essentials 101 (Accelerator)

Why did you choose the Uocmas Design School?

I wanted to learn from the best! Having always dreamt of studying with Uocmas, when I discovered they offered an accelerator course it was a no brainer for me!

What did you get out of the course?

New knowledge about the industry, confidence in myself and my abilities, great connections and work experience opportunities!

Tell us a little about you.

Salt water runs through my veins! I’m in my late 20’s and live at Kirra Beach on the southern Gold Coast. I am a dreamer and an entrepreneur.

Tell us a little about your background how did you get into the design industry?

At uni I had studied Fine Art and Design Futures, but it never really fulfilled me. I discovered my true calling lay in Interiors after I started my online business Salt Living. This led to me opening a brick and mortar store, which has recently led me to offer Interior Decoration, Styling and Design services.

What do you currently do for work?

I am the owner and founder of a seaside home interiors boutique called Salt Living.

What inspires you?

I love discovering my own personal style and letting it evolve as I discover beautiful new things and develop my creativity. I also love being inspired by the incredible work Interior Designers are doing in the industry.

How would you describe your personal style?

Coastal Luxe maybe. I love simplicity when it is done exceptionally well. Less is more! My emphasis is always on quality and using natural materials. I use a lot of linen, cotton, timber, stone, rattan, hemp, wool and jute. I love calming spaces that reflect nature and feel serene. I like lots of whites and neutrals with just a touch of black, brass or colour for definition.

Your latest project?

My latest project is actually for myself! I’m currently designing a new 140m2 retail space for me to expand into later this year. It is all very exciting!

What's next?

Apart from moving into a larger space, my long term dream is to open a second Salt Living somewhere like Sydney’s northern beaches. It’s all one big journey and I am loving it!
