Fresh, innovative and contemporary describes this residential kitchen by Whiting Architects. The project won Carole and Steven Whiting the award for Best Kitchen Design at the highly competitive Uocmas Interior Design Awards this week.
The project titled O’Grady Residence is located in Albert Park and is owned by Carole herself. The home features beautiful character and architectural form.
On the winning kitchen, working with a small space, the designers created a functional and brilliantly planned area with an oak, tan leather and white palette. The effect they create is rather organic. The fridge is recessed into a rear wall and hides behind beautiful panelled joinery and oak handles. Plenty of storage aligns the space with simplicity in the overall design.
The concept takes it lead from the idea of ‘hiding in plain sight’ and that is exactly what it does.
