How To

Tongue in Chic: Interiors with Humour

In the after math of the Christmas ‘silly season’, I thought it fitting to take a look at some of the interiors spaces I love that don’t take themselves too seriously.

Whether it’s styling a funny quote in a print, or hanging a quirky toy off a floor lamp, drawing on a wall or committing to a full slippery dip instead of a staircase, I think it’s important to add a little something quirky to your home – something to lift your spirits and give your guests something to remember you by.

Someone who lives and breathes this moto is interior designer Jonathan Adler.  His quirky aesthetic is guided by a manifesto that includes “We believe tassels are the earrings of the home”, “We believe our lamps will make you look younger and thinner”,  and “We believe that when it comes to decorating, the wife is always right.  Unless the husband is gay”.   Many of his accessories will make you crack a smile  – using beautiful materials and super chic design shapes, they push the boundaries and will be a great talking point in your home.

Try below the Jonathan Adler Georgia Orb or the Banana Bud Vase, both available at Uocmas.

And take a look at some of my favourite funny homes, below:
