Our Style: by Walter G

We can hear you thinking – “a little self indulgent of them to showcase one of their own products in their debut post!”.   Honestly, that was our initial thought too.  But what better way to give you a taste of what’s to come from us on Field Notes than to introduce you to our personal style.

Wallpaper is a wonderfully easy and mess-free way of injecting a room with depth and story. Walter G’s current wallpaper range is modelled on our hand block printed fabrics, inspired by the repetitious geometric designs that mesmerised us when we travelled to India for the very first time. From fine mirrored inlays at the Amber Fort to wild floral adorned trucks hurtling down the highway, we were intent on bringing this story of pattern into Australian homes and spaces. For us, the real beauty of patterned wallpaper is how easily you can transform a room whilst keeping most of the accessories the same. With beaded chandeliers, kilims, found ceramics, natural leathers and beautiful black and white line drawings, you could create a very relaxed, rustic eco luxe look with a taupe patterned wallpaper, or completely energise the room with a black and white geometric wallpaper that pops! The opportunities are endless and the end results are fantastic. We would love to see how you have used wallpaper in your space to create a new story – post it to Instagram and tag us @waltergtextiles and @cocorepublic.
