Sass & Bide at Home: Sarah Jane Clarke’s Sydney Sanctuary

I’m a long-term admirer of the Australian fashion label Sass & Bide and an even bigger fan of the inspirational design duo behind the brand: Heidi Middleton and Sarah Jane Clarke.

I think I actually squealed with excitement and clapped my hands with delight when I discovered the home of Sarah Jane Clarke on .

When not travelling around the world, Clarke lives in this beautiful home with partner Daniel Baffsky (one of Australia’s leading landscape architects) and their three boys Bo (8), Arky (7) and Ziggy (4).

Originally two apartments, this converted family home is located in the Sydney suburb of Vaucluse just north of Bondi Beach. Complete with sensational views of open sky, Sydney Harbour and dense green landscape dotted with rooftops, you can see why the couple were attracted to this inviting and picturesque property.

The interior of the home is light and airy, predominantly white with earthy tones and the occasional splash of colour.  Oversized indoor tropical plants, cane furniture and white paper lanterns mixed with vintage clothing displayed as art, collected oddities, art and ethnic textured fabrics create a soothing, relaxed coastal vibe with a bohemian edge.

Clarke is an avid collector of rare curiosities and vintage treasures and loves to comb through markets on her world travels. This eclectic but somehow seamless design blend is signature to Clarke’s unique, emotive personal style. Her attention to detail and cool confidence in combining the unpredictable is both refreshing and inspiring.  I can’t look away from the bejewelled studded rams head to the ethnic tasselled bell clumping the formal modern curtains together.

I will leave it to you to pick your favourites – Enjoy!
