London’s largest design show, Tent London and Super Brands London, showcased a myriad of crafty design talent within the sprawling rooms and spaces of the Old Truman Brewery in East London’s design hub.
The ground floor housed Super Brands London, with a first floor devoted to Tent London, where a non-pretentious variety of colour, pattern and humor surrounded, including Ercol’s stunning pastel coloured geometric fabric covered furniture, an acrylic coffee table called Pool Table from UK Designer Freshwest, and a white rattan chair complete with an attached sun hat.
Bright colours were mixed with earthy tones and textures played a big part including a bamboo ball armchair, woven bright plastic seating by W&Q, and knitted couch covers by Hand Knitted in the UK.
Lighting had fluorescent touches by Roussel and the timber pendants by Laszlo Tompa were stunning, with other designs including hand cut draped leather and simple bulbs in oversized gothic candelabras.
All in all it was a total inspiration over hours of discovery. My highlight was the French designer Roben and his elegant designs, in particular the multi coloured fabric balls adorning simple chair frames and stools.
