Places & Faces

Saint Frank, San Francisco

When recently in San Francisco, I discovered , an inspired coffee shop.  Pairing a trendy interior with passion for the craft of coffee, I recommend a visit when next in town.

In the chic neighborhood of , its location draws a crowd from locals and tourists alike.  Founded in 2013, Saint Frank is the evolving dream of two new friends who met travelling in Honduras.

Self described as a “purveyor of extraordinary coffees that have the ability to bring joy to life through aromas and flavours, but also to bring people together,” Saint Frank has a strong community vibe.  Drawing on the character and name of the city they live in, the feel is relaxed bayside meets bustling city.

The design is a collaboration between Ian Dunn of and Amanda Loper of .

From walls to floor, timber is a strong design feature, enhanced with clean lines and expansive white finishes.  White hexagon tiles create interest – I’m a little mad for hexagons right now after seeing them so perfectly used in this space.

Whilst beautiful as a hospitality fit out, this aesthetic can extend easily to the urban home.
