Design-Savvy Fashion Week Stays

Over the last couple of months we’ve seen the works of top fashion designers grace the catwalks in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. During fashion week the ‘big four’ are packed with glamorous fashion models, bloggers, editors, photographers – the people who live off style and design. After finding out the trendiest fashion week stays, keep these places in mind for when Fashion Week Spring/Summer rolls around in September through to October.

New York – 1 Hotel Central Park

When staying in the Big Apple it’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the fast-paced city, which is why I love 1 Hotel Central Park so much. The trendy hotel, located between the Museum of Modern Art and Central Park, is a calming refuge focused on ecological sustainability, which allows its guests to get back to nature – in a very fashionable manner, of course. I loved this hotel so much, that it was too hard to not write a lengthy piece on it. So if you like the sound of a relaxing oasis in the heart of New York City, you can read more about it here.

London – Rosewood London

London, to me, is synonymous with style and luxury – after all, you’ll find that (EIU) has ranked the city as the 6th most expensive city in the world for 2016. From Buckingham Palace to the terrace homes of Kensington, luxury can be seen around every corner, and nothing speaks of this more than the Rosewood London.

Your taxi will drive through the grand main archway leading up to the courtyard of the 1914 neoclassical style building. The lobby and reception make a fantastic first impression; bold white and black striped gloss floors create a fun and contemporary feel, topped off with an intricate patterned copper corridor that lines the entrance, and in the lift lobbies bird songs fill the air thanks to the finches and small birds housed in stunning ornate birdcages.

The 262 rooms and 44 suites designed by Tony Chi offer the finest of finishes, including Italian marble, Etro bed throws, leather, velvet, and Kaiser Idell lamps. A muted colour palette offers a warm and inviting space, perfect for some rest and relaxation after a busy day of attending shows.

Milan – Park Hyatt Milan

The opulent hotel occupies a classic Italian building dating back to the mid-late 1800’s, offering its guests an authentic Italian experience. The 106 rooms and suites magically blend traditional Italian finishes with sleek contemporary niceties to create an all-round A-list hotel.

The rooms feature stunning cool travertine stone details, softened by a muted neutral colour palette of soft greys and creams, with pops of colour through the incorporation of jewel-tone velvets. The classic beauty of the architecture and Italian detailing, paired with the contemporary styling, means that the Park Hyatt Milan boasts pure luxury whilst still reinforcing an inviting residential feel.

Paris – Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris

This iconic hotel is the epitome of Parisian chic, offering next-level European luxury and superior hospitality. You can say that the rooms stay true to lavish Parisian décor, featuring elegant qualities of Louis XVI interior design. The rooms are light, , and inviting – some even coming with a private balcony or terrace!

If the spectacular floral display by celebrated floral designer, Jeff Leatham, isn’t enough to catch your attention, then keep an eye out for the myriad of celebrities that grace the hallways.
