LA is a generally a misunderstood city for people who don’t want to see what it really has to offer. It is full of unexpected delights including the huge array of vintage dealers and estate sales.
If you are only in LA for a night or a lay over, head straight to on North Highland Avenue. JF Chen is an institution and although you may not be able to afford anything it’s still worth a tour with one of their knowledgeable staff. Make sure they take you down stairs to the exhibition space, it’s one of the most incredible reveals I have ever experienced.

LA is not a place for those who don’t like to drive but the one area which has a decent walking strip is La Cienega just below West Hollywood. Here you will find an array of well curated spaces like who have a beautiful range of French and German antiques as well as some contemporary design and many more.
