Mother nature is the ultimate designer and she's been an inspiration since mankind began designing.
The hexagonal shape of honeycomb has inspired pattern and design for centuries and bees are renowned for their creation and geometric efficiency. The symmetry allows for sturdy structures such as shelving systems and storage units and can also be rolled out across pattern design such as wall paper and tiling. The possibilities are endless. Not to mention the other qualities; wax, honey and of course the distinctive black and yellow combination. My favourite applications have to bee the SA Baxter door knob, Smegs sunflower yellow hobs, Lauren Ralph Lauren's Dustin Table Lamp and of course David Hick's timeless Honeycomb wallpaper.
