I’m sure you know what I mean when I talk about the creative vibe you find in Melbourne. You can sense it when you walk down the streets, in cafes, when you observe the look and style of the people walking past – you can instantly tell Melbourne is a hub for designers.
Christopher Boots, a lighting designer who lives and works in Melbourne, exemplifies this creative edge.
After completing a degree in industrial design, Boots began his career under the watchful eye of talented lighting designer, Geoffrey Mance. After Mance passed away in 2007, Christopher became a director and 4 years later started his namesake studio.
Christopher Boots Studio makes unique lighting products in Melbourne using a variety of techniques and unusual materials.
In my opinion his collection is vibrant, earthy and edgy like nothing I have seen before.
I’m not the only one who thinks this clearly as Christopher has made a real name for himself in the design industry over the past few years. Interior designers and architects flock to him for bespoke pendant lighting that create a timeless, raw aesthetic with stunning scale and craftsmanship.
If you have not come across his work before, I’ll let you look at his latest creations:
